A personal message from Lisa Maffia

Hi!

In my life I’ve never imagined that cancer would affect anyone in my life and even though its not my own health affected it feels like its happening to me!

Earlier this year my mum went for a regular checkup and in April was diagnosed with cervical cancer and it has unfortunately also spread to other parts of her body. The shock of the bad news has changed my whole life and I still can hardly believe the reality of the situation. I cry day and night about losing my mum but more worry about if cancer is hurting her and the fact that I can’t do anything to take it away!!

This is why I’ve decided to take part in the Race for Life this year…

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us now you can help more people survive cancer.Read how each £1 donated would/could change the future of cancer and how its treated.

Gift Aid it!

If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.

The thing is Cancer isn’t racist, it isn’t sexist, it isn’t prejudice nor does it discriminate in any way but what we do know is that it sure can take away someone you love with all your hearts life, so please dig deep and sponsor us online – it’s quick, easy and totally secure and join me in helping make a change…visit my Race for Life team page http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/teammaffia or click on the link just up there on the right –>

You can also donate by texting LISA50 and the amount (£1 – £10) to 70070

(All of the money is donated and there is no network charge)

Many thanks for your support. Together we will beat cancer.
